West Java Education Calendar Regulations in the New Normal Period
Currently, the world is experiencing a crisis due to the spread of a dangerous virus, which has caused the regulation of the educational calendar of West Java to undergo a slight change. The reason for this is that after the government has banned residents from leaving the house so as not to be affected by the virus, educational activities are needed that must continue during this pandemic period, which is still considered dangerous.
Therefore, changes in the education system are determined by the school authority, and this applies to all educational institutions and institutions in Indonesia. From what was originally face-to-face, now students and teachers have to start online learning using the app to continue learning, although they have to force both parties to use the gadgets.
Of course, parents initially welcomed this, because learning can continue in the midst of this difficult period. For Java and its surroundings, local governments must comply with the regulations set by the school authority. The educational calendar of West Java has certainly undergone changes with this decision.
If you look deeper, changes in regulations are becoming more and more saturated, as the tasks in question make it passive and difficult to obtain teaching materials according to the curriculum. Students can only get some material, but even so, it takes a short time without a definitive explanation, as online activities cannot always be effective in providing education.
The education authority and the government are striving to promote education
Because online activities are considered difficult, the government and governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, and several special staff eventually tried to provide several assistance programs to support the learning process. But you take it easy, because the program does not affect the educational calendar of West Java, so that educational activities can continue to be carried out.
Assistance programs to support education in the West Java region include monthly student contributions (IBPD), one-stop integrated schools, Masagi from West Java, economically disadvantaged families (KETM), universal assistance in secondary education (BPMU), as well as the revitalization of a secondary vocational school, and several scholarships from the West Java Education Authority.
This is, of course, good news, because government activities want to support educational activities during the infectious virus pandemic. But unfortunately, the program is only valid during the calendar period of education in West Java for the period 2020/2021 in the first semester, so the program ended yesterday in December 2020.
But you take it easy, even if there is no assistance fund in 2021, you still receive help from the government, especially from the West Java regional government, which is trying to reduce tuition fees. In addition, the government still operates KIP and Dana Bos programs to support the educational process in the current new normal period.
Adjustment of educational activities of the West Java educational calendar
Currently, the educational activities of all agencies and educational institutions still use online methods, so educational activities still have to be carried out. Although many parents are unhappy, but of course this is one of the government’s concerns for their people to be safe and not avoid infectious diseases.
In addition, after educational activities began to use online methods, nowadays many students have been saved from the attack of an infectious virus. Since the beginning of the second semester of the West Java educational calendar yesterday, January 11, 2021, many students have begun to get used to online learning methods in order to slightly solve past problems.
Later, students will continue to use this teaching method until it is completely safe and it is confirmed that there is no danger of infectious risk when they begin to meet face to face. Despite this, the school authority is still trying to change the curriculum to make it more suitable for online learning methods that were initially inappropriate because they used to be face-to-face.
Until now, various new tasks have begun to be given, such as creating gymnastic videos or exercises, so that students can continue to move actively, even if they use online learning methods. Over time, the second semester of the West Java educational calendar will be completed on June 25, 2021 using the certificate distribution method as in the previous semester.
Government asks for cooperation from all parties to promote education
With the current new normal period, learning activities have become more directed and focused on creating greater learning comfort for everyone involved. Be it parents, teachers and students, the Education Authority and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikbud) continue to strive to provide the best for their younger generation.
Even over time, the online education system began to be accepted by all circles of society. From kindergartens to college lecture activities, online systems are used as the most effective learning method to keep everyone healthy, whether it’s dangerous viral attacks or other issues.
In addition, there are currently several green zones in West Java that allow students to go to school. However, it should be noted that all of them must adhere to the current protocols so as not to encounter certain problems. West Java’s educational calendar will also take some steps by following the local government a little to adjust the situation.
A green zone in the sense of one of the areas with a low level of spread of the virus, so it is safe for the community for a while. However, the West Java Regional Government is still strongly urging the public to abide by the rules in force. If not, then there is a fine for non-compliance with the applicable rules.
Use of online learning activities for teachers and students
As we know, online education is currently the most effective method to avoid infectious viral diseases. In addition to the usual educational activities that follow the West Java educational calendar, teachers also need to adapt to the new material curriculum from the Education Office so that they can relax while teaching.
Since this is new to most people in Indonesia, it will obviously be very difficult to get used to the first days due to the lack of experience in certain areas. However, over time, the West Java Regional Government believes that all employees and workers who work will be able to overcome this difficult period together.
Indeed, the West Java educational calendar is a reference for teachers and teachers to make every effort in a predetermined period of time. This, of course, will always be managed by the government so that Indonesian citizens can get used to the new education systems and patterns to face the new normal period.
You, as a teacher, can continue to make every effort to encourage students to continue growing in the midst of these very bad conditions. Do not lose your spirit and try to continue so that you can welcome a good day in the future. Education will always be a priority in order to respond to the demands of the younger generation.
The government will continue to strive to provide the best possible effort from the Bos and KIP funds so that every child can learn better. Not only Western Java, but also all the provinces in Indonesia are experiencing the same thing and continue to fight. By referring to the West Java educational calendar , we can continue to move forward to improve the achievements of the younger generation.
